Realme UI 5.0 Android 14 Stable Update: Release Date, Features, Roadmap And Download Steps

The testing version has been rolling out with Android 14 since September 2023. And the size of this update is around 6.23GB. But one thing is noticeable, before the roll out of Realme UI 5.0, many tech giants said that this version of Realme UI would come with major changes. However, we did not see anything like that. UI 5.0 has come with many changes, but not as many as we were led to believe.

Realme UI 5.0

Realme UI 5.0, the new version of Realme UI, has come with a lot of new features. This version has based on Android 14 and with the stable launch of Android 14, UI 5.0 has also rolled out in some Realme smartphones. We all know that Realme UI 4.0 did not come with any significant changes, and similarly, UI 5.0 has also not introduced any major changes. As we said earlier, we have already tested UI 5.0 on Realme 11 Pro Plus, and we are making this statement based on its stable version.

After testing Realme’s UI 5.0, we have seen changes mainly in design and customization. Realme UI 4.0, which debuted on the Realme Narzo 60 and 60 Pro, is slightly better than its predecessor. To improve the user experience, the company has removed advertisements from the Narzo 60 series. Hence, the new version of Realme UI has also come with less bloatware and ads. So now, let’s take a look at the UI 5.0 features.

Realme UI 5.0 (Android 14) Features

Realme UI 5.0 introduces several UI changes, including control center, lock screen, app drawer, and animations. Here’s the list of UI 5.0 features that we’ve seen in the stable update. Additionally, we will tell you about features that have been removed in UI 5.0 stable version.

Notification Panel / Control Centre

Realme UI 5.0 features a slightly upgraded control centre. Its notification panel is a bit different from UI 4.0. The control centre of UI 4.0 comes with simple and minimal look, while UI 5.0 adds a permanent music toggle and a background bokeh effect to the notification panel. Apart from this, the notification panel remains unchanged.

Lock screen

Currently, only one option has been added to the lock screen in UI 5.0, which helps you to access Google assistant, Google pay, Flash light, Device controls, Lock screen magazine and QR Code from bottom left corner of the lock screen. The company has also improved the design of Pin lock. However, more lock screen options have not been added in the stable update.

App Drawer

We have also noticed minor changes in the app drawer. To improve app visibility, the company has added hold-and-show option. If you have trouble finding apps, this option is a valuable tool for you. Simply hold down the letter that starts with the name of the app you’re looking for. This option will automatically highlight all installed apps that begin with that letter. Similar to the notification panel, a background bokeh effect has also been added on app drawer.

Quick Sticker Feature

As with iOS, Realme UI 5.0 now offers the Quick Sticker feature in its stock gallery. This feature helps you create a sticker from a captured image in one click. To use the Realme Quick Sticker feature: Open the stock gallery and choose the image you want to convert into a sticker. Tap and hold on the subject of your image, then tap on the “Save” option to save the PNG to the gallery.

You can also access this sticker on other Realme smartphones by swiping and releasing it into the option “Save to file Dock“. But it requires the same account login on another Realme smartphone.

Help & Feedback Feature

The company introduced a new Help & Feedback feature, located in the Settings app of UI 5.0 Stable. Through this feature, you will receive online support regarding your Realme device, including Software and Driver Updates, Realme Care Plus, Warranty Status, Spare Parts Prices, and Nearby Service Centers.

Battery Health Feature

There are very few smartphone UI systems that provide battery health checkers by default, and one of them is Realme UI 5.0. The Realme Battery Health Feature is located in the battery option in the Settings, helping to check the smartphone’s battery health within a few clicks. Along with battery health, battery booster and wise charging have also been added in UI 5.0 stable.

Removed Features From UI 5.0 Stable

Some features of Realme UI 4.0 have been removed by the company in Realme UI 5.0 stable. This means, Realme users will no longer access the following features after upgrading to UI 5.0.

Realme Share Feature

Realme Share, which is locked in the notification bar, will no longer be available in Realme smartphones. It is a sharing feature like Nearby Share, that helped to share files from one Realme phone to another Realme phone simultaneously.

Background Stream Feature

Background stream is another useful feature for Realme users. Unfortunately, it has been removed from Realme UI 5.0 stable. You can no longer use the Background Stream feature in Realme, even after installing the Smart Sidebar APK.

Hot Apps and Games

As we said earlier, UI 5.0 comes with a clean user interface. The company removed some bloatware and advertisements to make the user experience better. In Realme UI 5.0, bloatware like hot apps and games is not seen.

Realme UI 5.0 Stable Update Release Date

So, as our readers know, we have already told you that Realme UI 5.0 will be released in September to October 2023. And guess what? The Moderator of Realme UI officially confirmed the launch date of UI 5.0. Realme UI 5.0 has released in India on September 18, 2023.

Initially, the company launched UI 5.0 on two Realme phones known as the Limited Edition. These were the Realme GT 2 Pro and the Realme GT Neo 5. Both smartphones received the update between September 18th and 24th, 2023.

After releasing Realme UI 5.0’s testing version in all eligible devices, now the company has begun rolling out Realme UI 5.0 Stable on Realme devices. The Realme 11 Pro Plus received the UI 5.0 stable update in mid-February 2024.

How to get Realme UI 5.0 Update?

If you are using the Realme UI 5.0 testing version, you will receive a stable update sized 818 MB with the official version RMX3741_14.0.0.300(EX01) for your Realme device. Simply update your device to the latest version.

But if you haven’t received the testing version of UI 5.0 yet, then wait until the company rolls out the stable update for your device or follow these steps to get the testing version of UI 5.0:

• Open the “Settings” app on your mobile phone.
• Go to the “About Devices” section.
• Click on the Current UI version.
• Tap on the three dot visible in the top right corner.
• Go to the “Beta Program” section.
• Tap on the “Early Access” option.
• Click on the “Apply Now” button after the 10-seconds countdown ends.
• Agree to all the terms and tap on “Submit” button.

After filling out this form, you will receive the trial version of Realme UI 5.0 on your eligible Realme smartphone.
